Week 51. La Pastora, Mexico.

Week 51: Busy Busy Week.

This week has been very busy! We had divisions Tuesday, Thurdays, and Friday! On Friday we had divisions with the Presidents Assistants. One of the assistants is my trainer from here in the mission, Elder Rincon. It was great to be able to work with him for a day now that I can speak the language a little bit better. This week has changed from 30 degrees to 80 degrees, I cant express to you all how crazy the weather is here!
We got some pretty crazy news this week. As of July 1st the missions Monterrey East and Reynosa are going to merge and become the new Monterrey East mission. Our mission President, President Maucotel and his Wife are going to be in charge of the Monterrey West mission and the east mission will get a new President, President Regalado. The boundries are changing a little bit and missions are growing all throughout the world. I still dont know whats going to happen with whether I am going to change missions or not but we will find out in the next months. I will stay in this mission and might get sent out to the Raynosa area or I will hop over to the Monterrey West mission with my President Maucotel. I am excited for wherever the Lord will send me! }
I would like to share a quick scripture that I have come to know to be true. It says "And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." I hope we can have the desire to share the gospel with those in need! Take Care everyone, Have a great week!

Week 50: La Pastora, Mexico.

Week 50: ¡Una semana exitosa!

This past week has been great! We have been finding alot of great people to teach. We have found a family that was referred to us by some members. They are super excited to learn more and willing to make changes in thier lives. We are super excited to teach them and watch them progress! We are hoping to work super hard and find more people this week who need the gosple the most! We also have 2 baptism dates with 2 investigators. Their names are Marlon and Abel. We have been working alot with them that they can gain a testimony and get ready for thier baptism!
This past week I have learned that God listenes and answers our prayers. We were having a rough time here in the area finding new people to teach. We we praying to God constantly to put people in our path that will be open to our message. We were able to find alot of great people through our efforts and mainly through our prayers! Dont be hesitant to express your feelings, doubts, and thoughts to God. As our Heavenly Father, he is always willing to give us answers and most importanty, give us peace. I hope all is well. Take care everyone!

A picture with my Companion Elder Bautista and Elder Young when we bought pizza for our zone activity (and yes its little ceasers here in Mexico 😂).

Week 49. La Pastora, Mexico.

Week 49: La Pastora!

This first week here in La Pastora was awesome! Our house is super nice, like I am pretty sure it is one of the nicest houses here in the mission. Our area is the area thats closest to El Cerro de la Silla (The big hill here). Alot of our area we have to trek up the big hill. Ill be honest, my legs are killing me!! My new companion Elder Bautista is awesome, he is from Pachuca here in Mexico. The area is very difficult here because everyone has alot of money and arent open to hear our message. I have came to learn alot about how pride and money go hand in hand 😂. Oh well, it is what it is and im super exciting to find the people out there that are waiting to hear the gospel.
Now that I am coming up on one year, I have learned alot of things. One the most important things I have learned is that God loves us and is willing to bless us in our lives if we are willing to do our part. He has promised us, "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." I love this scripture and the knowledge that if we do our part, he will do his. I hope all of you can start this new year great and enjoy all of our blessing from our Heavenly Father.
Take care!

Week 48. Miguel Aleman, Mexico.

Week 48: New Year, going to a New Area

Well as you all know, it has been a while since the last time I have wrote. I have been super busy with activities and I wasnt able to write last week. However, my birthday was great. We passed by like 3 families and they gave us a bunch of food and cake! We have also been super busy with doing some activities in some flea markets here. It has been pretty cold so we had some activites where we gave out free hot chocolate and contacted the people in the market! We found alot of sucess through our efforts, what great memories!
This week we have transfers. I am getting moved to an area called La Pastora. It is right in the city of Monterrey. It should be a new experience. I have areas where the people are very poor and humble. This new area is more wealthy and I imagine they might be a little bit more prideful as well. I am going to be Zone Leader as well in the Zone Paraíso. I am super excited for the new assignment and for the oppurtunity to serve!
I am so excited for this year 2018. A year of much success! Last night everyone was lighting off fireworks. I felt like World War 3 had taken place. haha. However, I really hope all of you the best of wishes in 2018. I hope that we can all get to know our Lord Jesus Christ a little bit more. Through this, we can find peace and happiness in our lives.
This past transfer we have been working alot with a less acitve family. This family hadnt been to church for some years now. We arrived about 8 weeks ago and ever since we have met this family, we have felt a grand desire to help them progress as a family. They finally have gotten back to church and yesterday the dad expressed to us how grateful he is to have the desire to be back in the church. These type of moments are very special. These type of things I will never forget and cherish this relationship with this family for the rest of my life. What great blessings from the Lord. Have a great week!
